Taser® is a brand name of stun gun that many people recognize.
So how does a stun gun work?
A stun gun produces electrical current from typically a 9 volt battery that can incapacitate an attacker for 5-60 minutes sometimes. The way this work as you brain and body works off of electrical impulses. When you push the prongs of your stun gun against the attacker the jolt basically disrupts the nervous system causing the inability to work active muscles such as arms and legs stopping the attack. The is a low amp jolt that is pushed through the muscles causing the muscles to overload while you have the button pressed. This is not permanent and after a while the attacker will recover.
Think of it this way your body when you are working out hard tires due to sugar energy depletion and lactic acid build up in the muscles. When using a stun gun you cause the muscles to go haywire from the extreme contractions which depletes the energy as will as increases the lactic acid build up. This rapid work cycle depletes blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid all in just seconds. This impulse of electricity moves throughout the body and disorientation, pain and loss of balance and leaves the attacker in a passive state, unable to continue his assault for several minutes
How long should I stun my attacker.
Typically 1/2 second will do the job with a stun gun and stop the attack but you may need a longer contact time with the prongs depending on if you are going through clothes or such.
1-2 seconds causes the muscles of the body to contract and the attacker experience pain and some confusion.
3+ seconds typically puts down the best of attackers.
Is the stun gun legal in my state?
Most states in the USA they are. However, before you order one, please make sure they are legal where you live.
If I am touching the attacker will i get shocked also?
No you will not feel it all. Even if you were soaking wet this impulse will not pass to you like lightening will.
